My Saturday with Jesus

(Read until the end – paragraph 9’s link in this post is a powerful testimony with an angel singing)

“I didn’t start out with a detailed plan this morning. I just wanted to be with the Lord and in His Word. When I release and allow the Holy Spirit to take me where He wants to take me, His tapestry just flows as He designs a unique, beautiful journey for me and the Lord.”

Last Saturday morning, I awoke around 4:30am thinking about Jesus and His Holy divinity. I awoke asking for forgiveness of my sins and posturing myself before Him, ready to serve Him. Little did I know what lie ahead in the next hour and the gifts that God would have in store for me, as I was about to get caught up in a plume of Heavenly richness, right from my own bedroom.

First things first – I rolled out of bed, and made my way to the kitchen for a cup of coffee. I added my heaping scoops of powdered coconut creamer, splashes of vanilla extract and sprinkles of Stevia, and headed off with this sapid cup, back to the land of milk and honey (my warm bed), to spend some quality time with Jesus.

I grabbed my Bible and set it next to where I was sitting and I began praising His Holy name; “God, you are most high. There is none like you. None above you. You are omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent. I want to serve you and please you all the days of my life. Please forgive me when I have wronged you or sought out man’s approval above yours. I am not worthy, but Jesus is. And because of the work that Jesus did on the cross and all that He suffered and endured for me, and because of my belief in Him, I am now made worthy and have a new covenant with God. An everlasting covenant, unbreakable, unshakeable and Holy. Thank you Jesus, thank you God.

Next, I thankfully received aloud and put on the Full Armor of God while thanking Jesus for each piece: The Helmet of Salvation ~ come live in my heart, I receive you now Jesus… The Breastplate of Righteousness ~ because of you Jesus, I am made clean….The Buckle of Truth ~ thank you for coming to earth and showing us how to live…..The Sandals of Peace ~ thank you for teaching us how to live in peace with others, ourselves, and God….The Sword of the Spirit ~ thank you for your Word God; sharper than a double edged sword that can cut through joints and marrow…The Shield of Faith ~ thank you God for my constant Faith, and thank you Jesus for teaching us about faith for your Father.

Time to dive into His Word and soak it up like a white carnation in red water. I opened my bible and as if silky waves ushered the pages, turning it to the book of Ezra in the OT. Although having read all of the books of the Bible, I am not as familiar with the book of Ezra, so I begin to read the history of this book in the pages that preceded the first chapter. Themes for Ezra: God restoring people, moving hearts, and rebuilding cities. Sounds interesting and so began my Ezra journey.  I pounced on the first chapter, and then the second, and then the third. I came to “Feast of Tabernacles” in chapter 3.  Hmm… not sure I recall all of the details about that Feast, so I refreshed my knowledge and Googled it.

God’s presence as a pillar of fire as He led the Israelites at night

Feast of Tabernacles or “Sukkot,” also known as the Festival of Shelter or the Feast of Ingathering, is a biblical Jewish holiday celebrated on the 15th day of the seventh month. Sukkot is celebrated for 7 days. This “feast” serves as a reminder of when God led the Israelites by his presence in the Sinai desert as they lived in tents and that the Lord provided for their every need. This year, it will be celebrated September 20, 2021 – Sept. 27, 2021. My google search then leads me to this fabulous article below explaining it further. When I finished reading the article, I now want to go tent camping to celebrate this. I text my husband to see if we can go camping the weekend of Sept. 24. No reply yet.

I love that Jesus celebrated the Feast of the Tabernacles as well, and His famous Words and scripture that came from Him during that time for “Living Waters” John 7:37-38 and “The Light of the World” John 8:12.

While reading the tabernacle article, the word “shekinah” appears, as in “the shekinah glory of God.” I have heard this word once or twice before and have vague knowledge of it, so I googled the definition and then the pronunciation: https://www.christianity.com/wiki/christian-terms/what-is-the-meaning-of-shekinah-glory.html

pronunciation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xz5Yvps2QS0

After the pronunciation video ends, another Youtube video immediately popped up entitled “I love this REAL Audio & testimony of Angels singing ‘Fly’ during worship set with Jason Upton.”  I love Angels, so I push play. I listened intently to the gentleman’s testimony of their music set one evening with an Angel appearing and adding to the music that they were creating. I am hopeful that they are going to play the song that they are talking about so I can hear this Angel. Sure enough, after the man finishes his very cool testimony, the song that the Angel contributed to plays.

As the song began, I was very quickly caught up in the Heavenly realms getting completely wrecked by Jesus. Worship flowed, tears, images of Jesus on the cross and bright light, His Holy presence, the fragrance of Heaven filling my nose, angelic presence, all pointing to Jesus and worshipping Him. I was completely present, undone, caught up, in love, and wanted nothing more than all of that, because there is nothing else on this earth that even comes close. Here is the video and song: ://youtu.be/gKaYOnhI-gc

What an incredibly special morning with the Lord. I am so grateful to you God. Thank you so much for this special blessing and treat of being caught up in your presence! There is nothing greater than that on this earth. Thank you for meeting with me at your tabernacle. You’re all I want Lord.

I didn’t start out with a detailed plan this morning. I just wanted to be with the Lord and in His Word. When I release and allow the Holy Spirit to take me where He wants to take me, His tapestry just flows as He designs a unique, beautiful journey for me and the Lord.

Holy Spirit Filling Station

Each morning I pull in to what I call the “Holy Spirit Service/Filling Station” for a much needed tune-up and alignment.

Before my day begins, I sit quietly before the Lord. I try to the best of my ability to “humble myself” before the Lord. I give Him all the honor and praise, asking for forgiveness of my sins, and then stating “I can’t God, but you can. Commandeer my body, soul, and mind. Take over. Align my heart, body, thoughts, words and actions with Yours, Jesus.” I ask “What can I do for you today, Lord. How can I be Your hands and feet?” I ask God what He wants me to know and to guide me in His Word/Scripture. I am never disappointed, and feel led to Scripture that He speaks to me with.

During my time in the Holy Spirit filling station, I humbly and gratefully ask for and put on the Full Armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-20), stating each piece aloud and thinking about what each piece means; the Sword of the Spirit, Shield of Faith, Breastplate of Righteousness, Helmet of Salvation, Belt of Truth, and Sandals of Peace.

I then have a 30 minute drive to work in which I continue to pray in the Spirit and declare His praises. When I open my door to my classroom, I get on my knees and give God my classroom, thanking Him for the opportunity to be able to teach another day, asking Him to commandeer me as a teacher so that His Will can be accomplished in there, use me as His vessel, and take over. I pray for my students. I pray for my team, our building, and administration.

I have to do this every day because I am human and fall short, and I can’t, but He can. My true strength comes from the Lord. No matter what is going on around me in this world, it is in Christ that I can find hope and peace.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

I love this picture above for several reasons; the vintage look, that school bus with the American flag, “Phillips” and the number 66. There are 66 books in the Bible. 66 books that can strengthen me and give me answers and peace to help me each day.

Peace and blessings to you, Tanya Phillips
