Jehovah Jireh, The God Who Provides

Fighting the Good Fight

“Please God! Just make it stop!” It can seem cumbersome day in and day out fighting the good
fight. Some days, the blended family challenges along with uncertainties in the world, can feel like the harsh waves crashing against a northern pier, on a cold January day. “When will it end God?” We cry out to Him, begging Him to make it all stop. The powerlessness, the frustration, worry, fear. We aren’t alone with our earthly cries. Christ Jesus suffered while on earth. He too cried out to God.

In Hebrews 5:7, it says “During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.”

So what are we to do with our worries and cares?

In 1 Peter 5:7 it says “Cast all your worries and cares onto God, for he cares for you.”

In Psalm 55:22 God says “Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.”

God longs to hear from us. His attention, love, and time are not limited. Neither are his resources, miracles, healing, provisions and wisdom. There is plenty to go around, and He longs to hear from each of us, everyday.

My dear friends, have you taken alone time with God today? To seek His counsel, protection and wisdom? Give Him your time, your heart, your worries. Make your days about Him, the Almighty Powerful One. He wants to pour in to you. He wants to provide for you and your household.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before you with the burdens of our hearts, and we thank you that we can cast our worries and cares upon you. Thank you that we can do this every minute of every day, because you are right by our sides and never leave us. You alone Lord created the Heavens and the earth. You alone are the most high. Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides, we seek you with all of our hearts. Please forgive us for our sins and may our household be in right standing with you. Although we cannot control what goes on in other households, please pour out your forgiveness, provision, protection, mercies, and grace upon this household each and every day. Thank you that you love us and our households, more than we can ever fathom. We give you thanks and praise, Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
